Dattch Pick: LadyFest Miami

If you’re in the Sunshine state of Florida, there’s still time to get your ticket to LadyFest in Miami and support a new grassroots festival that celebrates all things women-related.  It’s a two-day DIY event happening in Wynwood Arts District on Friday, Sept 19 at LightBox and Saturday, Sept 20 at The LAB Miami and Wynwood Cafe.
“LadyFest Miami is a volunteer organized, led, and run festival made by and for women –including women of color; women who identify as LGB, queer, trans*, and/or genderqueer; mothers and childfree women; women in the faith community ; women who are immigrants; women of all ages and their allies. The objective is to build a sustainable community and celebrate diversity through critical dialogue, cultural performance, and artistic expression within the context of a women-centered space.”
Sounds right up our street!  We’d love to see more festivals like LadyFest where women support women – that’s all women who are welcome and supported and there are a bunch of different activities that are available.
“The weekend is a grassroots initiative that will consist of interactive workshops and discussions, live music, art, and performances, community partners and local vendors, a free swap market, health services, and more.”
Head to Miami this weekend and support the amazing team of people putting together this awesome event.
