Today is our last day in current offices and we’re a bit sad faced about it to be honest. We’ve decided to bury our head in the sand and instead of packing up our stuff like grownups might, we’re scouring the Internet for weird and wonderful stuff to share with you.
- Gigi Chao, the lesbian daughter of Chinese billionaire, Cecil Chao, has refused to marry a man to please her father. What’s actually shocking is that her father doubled his original ‘marriage bounty’ on her to £72 million in order to find a man alluring enough to woo his daughter. Gigi’s excellent response is to tell her father that, “I do love my partner Sean, who does a good job of looking after me, ensuring I am fed, bathed and warm enough every day, and generally cheering me up to be a happy, jolly girl. She is a large part of my life, and I am a better person because of her.”
- Over on XOJane, a bit of controversy popped up this week as the debate over one writer’s white privilege broke out. An article from a white girl’s perspective of how uncomfortable a curvy black woman felt in her yoga class, sparked some lively conversations about insensitivity and the presumption of the writer over this woman’s feelings. The back and forth continues when the assigning editor reveals why she let the piece be published in the first place.

And we’re still figuring out some cool things for our new offices and wondering how much work would realistically get done if we had a slide like this in our new space? Worth it anyway?
