The Lesbian Prom Guide: The Music

Feb 28, 2014

  • London’s first big lesbian prom is happening on 15th March at Scala and we can’t bloody wait.  To give you an idea of all the delights in store, we’ll be posting info about it every week to whet your big gay appetite.  Still haven’t got your tickets? Get them here and come join us for the biggest lesbian party of the year.

    ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC

    By Effi Mai
Yes, we’re celebrating the female music scene in this prom. The main room has been taken over by TLC, the weekly queer night in East and Soho. Headlining this room we have the rising star CHARLI XCX who has been taken the world by storm after she featured with Icona Pop on I Love it. Now she’s been touring in America and beyond in her short sparkly skirts and has just collaborated with Iggy Azalea to create the punchy poppy rap fuelled Fancy. With her full band she’s going to tear up the stage leaving this room buzzing in full capacity.
Also on the stage with all their electro-dubstep hip-hype sound are RED N PINK. Getting girls jumping around and singing along when they perform exciting new material and some of their classics. With their loyal and passionate fan base we’re excited to have them on board the MissFit Team. Of course their super-hot short shorts wearing Izzy Trixx will be DJing with them making their sound even better and will also be closing the main room to a crowd of drunk happy lesbians.

Taking over the main room and getting the crowd warmed up for the first two hours will be the GIRLS ON TOP from Brighton who take over Revenge every Thursday.  And it’s always good to get some Brighton girls joining the London girls and everyone will be loving the old skool pop, R&B and the random other tunes of choice.
With MissFit taking over the attic room there will be crowds swarming around the DJ booth as Lauren Mayberry from CHVRCHES takes over the music for an hour with an exclusive DJ set. The success of CHVRCHES this year has been unreal and the adorable Glaswegian has been featured in magazines for her voice, her opinions and her quirky fashion, and has made the country fall in love with her. Expect a mix of electro, indie and… With the rooms we have female DJs, female acts and we’re all celebrating the feminism of the place. The prom is all about the music and this is where the alternative comes to a head with electro ending the set with Von Petrovosky.

It’s all about the music, it’s all about the girls, and we’re excited to have you all there.
