What is the history of “diesel dyke”?

The term “diesel dyke” originally came from the idea that you’d need a powerful diesel engine to move them since they tended to be bigger/thiccer butch women. But these origins have fatphobic and butchphobic energy, so we’d like to formally redefine “diesel dykes” as being extremely hot dykes who are really into cars and having sex with women in them. (Important: While anybody can be a diesel dyke, having T&A doesn’t hurt!)

Modern day diesel dykes are into motorcycles and Vespas. While hisortically, they skew butch, soft butch (like Corky), or stud, they can also include more femme dykes, too. However, it’s hard to imagine a high femme diesel dyke, since the lifestyle might fuck up their manicure.
