A Charlie’s Angels spoof with lesbian protagonists and a happy ending. What’s not to love?
This is a beautiful and emotional coming of age film with an incredible cast.
A hilarious satirical rom-com which stars Natasha Lyonne pre Orange is the New Black. (This was also the first lesbian film I ever watched!)
This film is that it tells the story of a middle aged woman and an Asian woman falling in love, which is pretty unusual as most lesbian films usually only tell the stories of young white women.
I feel like this is the classic British lesbian rom-com which has a fairly unusual plot.
A Swedish coming of age drama about a young girl growing up in a small town infatuated with the popular girl at school.
If you haven’t seen this film already, what are you doing with your life?! Don’t be put off by the length of the film because it is well worth watching.
This Romance between two British women of colour offers a different cultural perspective on coming out.
A comedy drama which tells the more unusual story of what happens to a lesbian couple after their children’s biological father enters their lives.
Prepare to have your heart broken as this drama tells the heart-breaking story of two Iranian teenagers who cannot be together because of the society where they live.
This crime thriller has a great plot with many twists and turns you will not see coming!
This film deals with coming out and a family’s journey to accepting their daughter before her wedding, although it’s said to be a comedy I feel like it is more of a drama since most of the film deals with fairly heavy themes.
Probably the straightest gay film of all time, which encapsulates what it would be like to date a straight girl. Despite the somewhat problematic nature of this film, it is still pretty funny.
Unlike all the other films on this list this relatable rom-com emphases not only on the hardships of the lesbian dating scene but also heavily focuses on the relationship between a lesbian and her straight best friend.
This drama is not only incredible plot which will keep you on your toes but also stars the stunning Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore.
