Dattch Top 5 Dates: Competitive

Jul 19, 2013

The success of a date can often hang entirely on where you take your lady. Do you go for quiet and intimate or exciting and wild? Somewhere you can be adventurous or low-key where you can talk about your childhood pets?
Decisions, decisions. Well, we’re going to give you a helping hand and provide you with some Top 5 date ideas to inspire you all to have great dates, first or otherwise. We’ve always got our eye out for a cool place for a date but if you spot one you’d like to recommend, send it in to heya @ dattch.com

This week: for competitive couples

Softball – One of the oldest lesbian stereotypes is women who ironically love nothing more than playing with a big bat. Whether you’re watching or playing, there’s always a good time to be had at a softball game. Check out the London Raiders who are an LGBT team for a gay old time.

Treasure Hunt – We’ve all pretended we’re as smart as Sherlock Holmes when we finally solve that tricky crossword puzzle we’ve been working on for a week, so why not work with real life clues?  Hidden City allows you and your team to trek across a city, looking for clues to the next secret location, enjoying the sights as you go. Sign up with your lady and go head-to-head with another couple and then laugh in their face when you win. Or be gracious; your call.

Badminton –
An underrated sport in our opinion, probably because people sometimes view it as the sickly younger sibling of tennis.  Badminton is actually a good laugh and for those of us who lack the upper body strength to play tennis, it’s a great way to thrash your lady friend or another couple in a game of doubles.

Go-Kart Racing – Use your date as a chance to go all Jeremy Clarkson on your lady by zooming past her in a little go-kart! Just remember, it’s all fun and games until your date gets into the car and turns into the Stig, leaving you to watch her speed away into the distance and deal with some serious road-rage.

Indoor Rock Climbing –  Whether you’re an experienced climber or a total noob, indoor climbing is hella fun and you can always race your date to the top and scream ‘I’m the King of the world’ when you crush her.  A little healthy competition can be good for a relationship.  As long as you’re the one who wins.
