Sunday Style with Dapper Tomboy

Dapper Inspiration
When I started Dapper Tomboy it was a like a journal that I could look back at and grab ideas from. It helped me generate my own style – one I could be happy with. When the blog took off, I couldn’t believe it. It started receiving over a hundred new followers a day and message after message from people asking for help, or expressing their love. Eventually, I started letting other people submit their own photos to share their personal style. Before I knew it, I was getting messages every day about how my blog had helped someone be who they wanted to be and express themselves through fashion. This little ‘journal’ I made turned into something much bigger. While Dapper Tomboy continues to inspire many, I thought I’d share my thoughts on five lovely ladies who inspire me.
Ari Fitz is a model, filmmaker, and TV personality. She starred in MTV’s Real World Ex-plosion where I first came to know her. Ari was someone who was not afraid to be an out & proud lesbian, share her killer style, and just be herself. Today, Ari Fitz has a YouTube channel where she makes awesome videos with her girlfriend, collabs with other YouTubers, and produces her own series called Tomboyish. Tomboyish is not only a series made just for Tomboys, where Ari & others share their personal style, but it’s also a style blog and clothing store. The series has a new episode every Tuesday and it’s something I genuinely look forward to. I also follow Ari Fitz on instagram where she shows a little behind-the-scenes action, previews to her episodes, and of course, her amazing tomboy style. Check out this video to see exactly what I mean.

Christina Caradona is a model and curator of the style blog Trop Rouge. Christina lives in New York City, but was raised in France. She got into fashion because her mother was a professional model. Trop Rouge is one of my favorite blogs out there. When I see her posts, I feel like she knows exactly who she is; her style seems effortless, and her hair… well, it’s perfect. Caradona’s photos are taken all over NYC – strutting her stuff and showing off that classic tomboy style. Check out her instagram for some extra-dapper looks!

Ruby Rose (you all know Ruby, right?) is a model, DJ, and the newest cast member to join Netflix’s Orange is the New Black. Gay or straight, I’m pretty sure everyone has a crush on Ruby Rose. The gender-fluid Aussie looks good in absolutely everything. When I first discovered Ruby, I thought, “Who is this gorgeous person, and how does look so good in a sexy dress and a stylish suit?” Rose embodies everything I could only hope to be one day. As a model, she knows exactly who she is and is not afraid of what the world has to say about it. Ruby’s instagram is one of my favorite places to go when I need a little inspiration. Check it out.

Madison Paige is a model and a killer musician in her spare time. Paige is the new face of Phoebe Dahl’s (who just happens to be Ruby Roses’s fiancé) clothing line Faircloth. This model’s instagram is every tomboy’s dream. When she’s not singing her original songs and playing guitar, she’s sharing photos of her impeccable tomboy style. I might have huge crush on her, but if you check out her instagram, you’ll understand why.

Laura aka Ascot Friday is an awesome mom, model, and one half of the Ascot & Hart clothing site. She is someone I followed on instagram because her family is the absolute cutest, and I haven’t regretted it since. Laura and her husband are parents to two adorable little skater boys. When Laura posts photos of her own look, it’s hard to not fall even more in love. Ascot Friday’s style is that cool-California-girl look with some tomboy thrown in. She rocks a lot of her own clothes from Ascot & Hart, a site with a thrift store vibe carrying everything from original tee and tanks, slick boots, and bags and totes. Follow Ascot Friday for the full experience.

These are just a few of the awesome ladies that continue to inspire me everyday. Style is something that can be anything you want; it’s a form of art and expression. For me, it’s the one thing that truly makes me feel confident. I hope Dapper Tomboy and these 5 ladies can help you find the style you’re looking for!
